The core dumping problem on the dual core (rc5des) x86 clients has been
isolated and fixes are being made available. Updated clients that resolve
this problem are being made as quickly as possible. Affected clients are
all 2.7XXX clients on x86 UNIX based platforms (Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris,
UnixWare) when any of the non-Pentium (P5) cores are selected. The Win32,
Win95, OS/2, and NetWare clients are not affected.
Clients after version 2.7014.397b (note the "b") should not have this
problem. Alternative solutions include forcing the client to use the
Pentium (p5) core, or downgrading to the 2.6403 version client. You should,
however, upgrade as soon as a fixed version for your platform is
available.
As of the time of this posting, a Linux rc5des 2.7014.397b client has been
made available that addresses this issue. Expect the other x86 UNIX
platforms within the next few days.
