One other comment ... Code Red I & II scanned every internet address
about every 1-2 minutes during the height of the infection. Dedicated
access customers (DSL & Cable) typically use home firewall appliances
out of the "extra" security concern - when in fact, the dialup customer
who "might think" they are less at risk, were the primary customers with
out firewall protection that actually sustained the outbreak for weeks
and were harder to track down and get dissinfected - many dialup customers
are still infected since they are harder to identify with intermittant
connectivity.
