[Hardware] The market of ASICs (One GigaKey / Second?)

I'm not up on the technical side of this, but if this technology could be 
applied to cancer cures, etc. then there would certainly be people who would 
buy these chips - doctors, universities, even your average citizen.

The principal factor is getting someone to fund the development of them, and,
of course, theres the slight issue of "we actually have to have something to 
do with them" so someone has to do the algorithm work. :)

Would love to hear more about this.

(Oh, and why *wouldnt* you do this for stats?? ]:8)
