Hi there,

yes there is a client list and it's rc5 at lists.distributed.net.
allthough your question seems proxy related, so it is not out of place here
!

as far as I know there is no possibility to mail proxy buffers.
but there is a way to stop the proxy from auto-adjusting it's buffers , The
readme does not mention it for OGR, but i suspect it works ( haven't tried
it myself )

>From the readme :
This automatic behavior is recommended for almost all people. The
proxy will adjust its buffer so there's always enough blocks for a
couple of days. People who use the proxies buffers to sneakernet need
be to able to download large numbers of blocks. For this purpose a
ini-setting [rc564]/expertmode and [desII]/expertmode is added. If
this option is set to 1 (one), the proxy will obey your settings of
maxkeysready and minkeysready.

so try putting
expertmode=1
in the [OGR] section

Regards,
Stan

hi,

is this the correct list to post questions about the client? im asking
because i thought there was a list for that. if this is it then i have
an ogr-crunching question that i would like to ask.

is there a facility, or even a plan, to have proxy servers be able to
submit and receive packets via email? the reason is that the personal
proxy that i set up here at the office have only access to the internet
during lunchbreaks and my clients are running out of rc5 packets to
crunch. i have set the maximum to be downloaded to 200 but it gets reset
to 50 packets. i find this curious because from the readme

"If you specify a buffer limit of 1000 or fewer, the proxy will
respect this value, just like previous versions. "

ciao!
