You should still be able to point it to a location that the server doesn't
have access to write to, no?
A little NTFS or SMB share permission action should get you what you need, I
would think...

now im embarrased because i didnt mention that it is running in a Win2K
server. how can i point it to WinNT/Temp? would specifying it work? how
