[RC5] Linux client has Illegal Instruction!

Agreed. There seems to be something in there that a 386 does
not like. The client runs fine on 486/P5/6x86/P6/PII, but a
386 chokes. I have not tried the non-mt client. If anyone wants
to see the core, I can send it to you.
