[RC5] run rc564 and rc5des?

The HD is more likely to survive the continuous pounding for the
buff-* files, the checkpoint files, and the exitrc5.now checks than
the FD (and does them much faster).
Further, the copy, fetch, copy (to a client on the HD) is noticably
faster than using a client on the floppy. If your intent was to
a dedicated client on the HD that used the buff-* files on the FD,
then still, to prevent rapid failure of the FD, batch files to move
them onto the floppy and then push them back off are needed (at the
     DOS-client side).

Um... why move the files to the hard-drive? Just run right of the floppy.
Also, -update would replace the seperate -flush, -fetch. So...
1) Yank the floppy from the 386
2) Stick it in the networked machine
3) at the command prompt: rc5des -update
4) when it's done, move the floppy back to the 386

To unsubcribe, send 'unsubscribe rc5' to majordomo at lists.distributed.net
rc5-digest subscribers replace rc5 with rc5-digest
