Hmm.  Well, is depends (slightly) on the distribution that you're using.
On my (Slackware) system, the startup scripts are in /etc/rc.d .  To start
up the client, I added the following line to /etc/rc.d/rc.local

(cd /etc/local/rc5;exec ./rc5des > /dev/tty9 2>&1 ) &

The output redirection is just so I can switch over to vc 9 and see how
it's doing.  My pproxy outputs to vc 10.
