The easiest way would probably to just 'do the right thing' and set
the computer's clock to UTC instead of local time.

The second easiest way would be to set the TZ environment variable before
running the client:

jekyll:~$ date
Tue Jan 12 18:54:56 EST 1999
jekyll:~$ TZ=CST6CDT date
Tue Jan 12 17:55:02 CST 1999
