Agreed, however, I understand setiathome has an option to 
turn off the screensaver and merely run at low priority 
in the background.

I run both rc5des and setiathome on my (slow) P586/166 
and Caldera OpenLinux 2.2 and I've never even noticed 
either program's causing even the slightest delays in 
response.
