[RC5] Getting the maximum performance out of a single processor machine

I don't know about other people but I like to use it to spin down my hard
disks to save power after I'm done for a while.  You do raise an
interesting point.  After rebooting the machine to load the client it
probably isn't all that great of an idea if you are trying to squeeze more
speed out.
