Dennis-
Why don't you just buffer the laptop for about 12 hours of work, and make
sure you fetch/flush before you shutdown the laptop when you leave in the
morning, and fetch/flush when you come home and power up?
There's an option in the config to 'buffer by time'.

Aaron.
