Did you try build .469 from the pre-release page?
This build includes an initial 4-pipelined RC5 core for the P4, called "core
8) NB class 7".
And it should be able to detect the Pentium 4 processor. Otherwise you
should add your
   dnetc -cpuinfo
results to bugzilla http://www.distributed.net/bugs
