If I remember correctly, that is on purpose in order to prevent
unauthorized non-dnet clients.

If I remember correctly, if a contributor can get the core computing code
compiling cleanly on a platform AND successfully processes the test set of
work units AND demonstrates themselves as a "clued, skilled porter" (by
getting the core computing code working), the main dnet team will clue
said person in on the rest of the code.
